It’s horrifying as far as I’m concerned. Horrifying, disgusting, despicable, tasteless, outrageous and a prime 
example of the greed that seems to have overtaken us. Amazon.ca is selling an e-book written by one of the most evil, sick, twisted individuals ever.
I don’t know who over there made the decision to accept it, but here’s what I think of that decision. And the book.
Paul Bernardo who, in 1995, was sentenced to life with no chance of parole for 25 years, brutally raped and killed two teenagers in St. Catharines, Ontario. Leslie Mahaffy was 14 and Kristen French was 15. He also admitted to raping 14 other women in Scarborough, a Toronto
suburb, which earned him “dangerous offender” status.
Personally I don’t think he should ever be eligible for parole, which he’s already applied for. So far it’s been denied, thank God. Let’s pray it stays that way.
On the other hand, his former wife, Karla Homolka, who is every bit as demented and evil as he is, if not more, made a deal with the Prosecutor. As a result she served only 12 years and was released. They say she’s living somewhere in Quebec. Apparently she’s married and has three children, God help them. Don’t ask me how I feel about all that.
Not only did she help him lure those two innocent young girls into a car, and to their death, she also served up her younger sister on a silver platter. Karla was working as a veterinary assistant back then and she helped herself to some drugs she thought would subdue her sister so she and Bernardo could rape her and film it (they filmed the others as well). Needless to say the drugs, which were not intended for humans, killed her sister.
Yeah, definitely not nice people.
These two make me wish our justice system leaned more towards “an eye for an eye”. Jail’s way too good for them.
The book he’s written, a work of fiction that doesn’t discuss his own crimes, is apparently filled with violence. Surprise, surprise. Who’d expect anything else from this animal?
That he wrote it is bad enough. But that it would be available on Amazon is more than I can handle. And that he can profit from it gives me violent thoughts.
If you haven’t already figured it out, I will not be buying his book. Neither will I be ordering anything from Amazon any time soon.
UPDATE: A FORMER COLLEAGUE READ MY POST ON FACEBOOK THIS MORNING. HE COMMENTED THAT THE BOOK IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON AMAZON WHICH, OBVIOUSLY, I DIDN’T KNOW. FRANKLY I DON’T CARE. ACCEPTING IT WAS A BAD, BAD DECISION, AND THEY PROMOTED IT AS “A # 1 BEST SELLER”. IT WAS GREED THAT MOTIVATED THEM TO SELL IT AND IT WAS THE FEAR OF LOSING CUSTOMERS (AND THEREFORE, MONEY) THAT MOTIVATED THEM TO STOP SELLING IT.

I was really surprised anyone would punish his book. Or sell it. Horrible.
Disgusting. Don’t know if you’ve seen my updated post. I added a note at the bottom because a former colleague told me it’s no longer available at Amazon. Too many protests apparently. As well there should have been. Talk about a stupid decision.
