A pox on telemarketers …

Grrrrrrr!!!!!

I am besieged with telemarketing calls. I get calls at 8 a.m. I get calls at 10 and 11 o’clock at night. I get calls on weekends and holidays. On any given day I can get upwards of five or six of them. I get these calls on both my landline and iPhone. I am on a “do not call” list (for both my landline and iPhone) and have been since they’ve been in existence.

The problem (frustration) is, “do not call” lists exclude anyone you’ve ever done business with (even if you Continue reading

I just don’t get it

Last week I saw a Levi’s commercial urging Americans to vote. It’s a great spot and bravo to them for doing it, but that they should have to, makes me crazy. Theirs is the only commercial I’ve seen — at least so far. But apparently, they’re just one of many companies doing it.

The Skimm has also been pounding away at trying to get people to vote. For those of you unfamiliar with it, The Skimm is a quick and easy-to-read daily digest of news stories.

They’re so concerned about low voter turnout among female Millennials, for months leading up to voter registration for the upcoming US midterm election, they launched a “no-excuses” campaign, with daily tips, apps, info and even a link to register.

For the life of me, I will never understand why people are so ambivalent about voting, how they have no compunction Continue reading

Sorry, but I’ve got to blow off a little steam …

Yeah, I’m crabby. I probably would have suffered in silence, but yesterday a blogging buddy wrote about being crabby and, at the end of her post, asked what made us (her readers) crabby.

Well, she poked the tiger, opened the door. Of course I have to share.

About 10 consecutive days of rain hasn’t helped. I know it’s sunny now, but I’m still not over it,  Continue reading

My idea of heaven seems to be changing …

What do I know?  Maybe I’m just having a bad couple of days.  Maybe I’ve got a case of the January blahs.  Tell me what you think.  Is it yurtjust me, or is life becoming way too complicated?  Is it just me, or is nothing easy anymore?  I’m not joking.  This is a serious question.

Everything is becoming a hassle.  It doesn’t matter what it is you’re trying to get done, or who you’re dealing with.  It takes way longer than it has to, it’s more fraught with problems and frustration then it should be and you’re left wondering why you bothered in the first place.

Should I really have to re-arrange every carton of milk on the bloomin’ shelf in order Continue reading

Day 222. Oh Shit!

Yeah, I’m having one of those.  Everything I touch.  Everything.  So I’m doing something unusual.  I’m writing tomorrow’s post today.  Don’t give yourself a tearsheadache trying to figure it out.  I’m doing it for me.  For my sanity.  For my mental health.  Consider it therapy.

I’m thinking if I get rid of it, now, I’ll feel better.

And by the time you read this, tomorrow, I’ll be fine.  Giggling.  Chirping merrily away.  Not even remembering today.  As if it never happened.

No, I’m not going to go into detail.  I’m not going to tell you what’s gotten me so riled up.  It doesn’t matter.  It’s irrelevant.  And it’s a bunch of stuff anyway.  Like I said before, everything I’ve touched so far today, has turned into doo doo.

What I am going to do, is put all my recently-discovered enlightenment to work.  In other words, I’m going to put my money where my mouth is.  I’m going to practice what I preach.  I’m going to get over it.  Put it behind me.  Rise Continue reading
