In case you’ve been wondering about me …

Who can honestly say you’re not even a little bit curious about what makes some of your favourite actors tick?  Come on, not even a little bit?  Well I Spotlight2am.  That’s one of the reasons why I’ve always enjoyed the one-hour talk show, Inside The Actors’ Studio.

Hosted by James Lipton (writer, composer, actor and dean emeritus of the Actors’ Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York), it’s actually a seminar for students that’s also filmed for broadcast.  The format is very simple.  Lipton and his guest having a leisurely conversation in front of a live audience.  What I love most about it is, Lipton doesn’t ask the usual questions.  And the actors or directors he’s talking with, really open up.

So when I read today’s WordPress Daily Prompt, I simply had to play along and turn the spotlight on myself:  “On the interview show Inside the Actors’ Studio, host James Lipton asks each of his guests the same last question.  What are your responses?”

Day 311. That’s Entertainment

What a great night I had last night. No, I didn’t have a date with a fabulous man. I didn’t have an amazing meal at a wonderful restaurant, either. Didn’t go out snowwhiteclubbing or anywhere else you’d probably expect me to be.

Believe it or not, I was at a school play.

My friend Marilyn has two little grand nephews who have to be the cutest kids you’ll ever meet. And that’s saying something, because when the maternal genes were being handed out, I must have been wearing a “Do Not Disturb” sign. “No Trespassing”. “Beware Of Dog”. “Stay Off The Grass”.

Sorry. I’m just being honest. “Chacun son gout“, as they say. “Each to his own“, for the anglophones among you.

But these two kids. A different story, entirely. Whenever we spend time with them, I always say I’m taking them home with me. And I mean it. They are that adorable.

‘G’ is the eldest. He’s 7 and has always been a ham. Great personality. Not shy. And aside from his red hair

Day 257. Real Heroes

I am going to be uncharacteristically brief in today’s post. There’s no need for me to go on and on. There’s just one point I want to make. I have to admit I love the bostonirony.

Yesterday morning I wrote about the extremes we go to, when it comes to celebrities. How we idolize them, put them on pedestals and treat them like heroes. Actually, we don’t just treat them like heroes. I think we believe they are heroes. Misguided as it is.

But little did I know, by last night, we’d be seeing real heroes in action. When teams representing local, state and federal law enforcement caught and captured Dzhokar Tsarmaev, one of the suspects believed to
