The right to bear barbs …

I have a new hobby. Actually, maybe it’s less of a hobby and more like therapy. I’ve taken to Twitter. Well, that’s not it, exactly. I’ve been tweeting for ages. I’m now using Twitter to get rid of my aggression and frustration.

For the last few weeks I’ve regularly blasted 45, his daughter-wife, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. I can’t tell you how good it felt to tell Ivanka to do everyone a favour and go back to stealing shoe designs; and to call Continue reading

Feeling hopeful … hopefully … ?

It started last Friday with the news that Mike Flynn had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and was cooperating with the Mueller investigation.

“Be still my heart,” I thought, “this could be big.” “Big,” because the Mueller team has a lot of evidence on a lot of Flynn’s wrongdoing; and they could have indicted him on much more serious crimes. Crimes that would have carried a long, long jail term — thirty years or more.

And so, I thought — hoped — if Mueller was willing to pass that up and settle for a much lesser charge — one that would carry a much shorter jail term — then he (Flynn) must have some pretty powerful evidence on a much bigger fish. A Continue reading

Five more senseless deaths, but Second Amendment rights are intact

Last Friday, Esteban Santiago arrived at Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdalewordpress-gun on a flight from Alaska. He went to baggage claim and picked up one piece of luggage. He then went to the men’s room, removed the handgun that was in a case inside the bag, loaded it and came out shooting.

Five people were killed, almost 40 were injured and hundreds were traumatized.

The gun was obtained legally and it was declared — which means that the proper procedures for Continue reading

I’ve gotta admit it, I’m jittery …

After a long and torturous year and a half, today’s the day, folks. Americans are going to the polls. At least I hope electionthey are, in droves too.

I’ve heard far too many people say they were planning to either sit this election out, vote for a third party candidate or write in another name on the ballot.

Dumb, dumb, dumb at any time, but this year, it’s criminal.

The thought of Donald Trump in the White House gives me a serious case of the heebie jeebies. We don’t need to go through the Continue reading

Day 258. Egos Aside

Want to know how powerful the spirit of collaboration can be?  Look no further than Boston, this past week.  Everyone co-operated.  Everyone was on the same page.collaboration  They worked as a team.

From the Governor to the Mayor.  From the local police to the FBI.  From the swat teams, to the military, to the bomb squads, to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives.  From the emergency workers to the medical personnel to the fire fighters.  From the runners to the residents to the business owners.

I wasn’t there.  I have no training in such matters.  Or, thankfully, any experience.  But this I do know.  If they hadn’t put their egos aside, if they hadn’t put individual agendas or prejudices or beliefs or preferences aside, if Continue reading
