And the award goes to …

… me, for having the intestinal fortitude to not only watch the award shows, but to stick with ’em from start to finish. Yay me. My God they are boring. And long.

Every year I say “that’s it, no more, I am not going to watch next year.” And next year comes around and there I am, tuned in yet again.

This year I really wasn’t going to watch, but did out of curiosity — not to see who would win, but to see how they’d handle all the sexual harassment charges in the industry.

Day 189. Hot Stuff!

No, I am not talking about the Grammys.  Is it me, or was that the worst show ever?  I always look forward to the Grammys.  Of all the award shows, it’s usually the best ‘production’.  It’s certainly the one show where anything really can happen.  And often does.  It’s a very unpredictable crowd, which makes it fun to watch.  I also usually enjoy the music, or at least a fair bit of it.

And I’ll be honest, I like seeing just how outrageous everyone is.  Whether or not they’re coherent.  Just how blitzed they’ll be.  Their hair, their make-up, what they’re wearing.  Or, more to the point, how little they’re wearing.

It’s a freak show, but in a good way.  I mean, who will ever forget a few years ago, when Lady Gaga was carried in, in an egg?  There have been many memorable moments over the years.  But not this year.

What went wrong, I don’t know.  I’m sure the now famous CBS ‘memo’ had something to do with it.  Apparently everyone attending was asked to cover up, to not show ‘skin’ or ‘puffiness’ this year.  Give me a break!  After all these years the Grammys have been on the air, I find it difficult to believe anyone — from network bosses to

Day 160. Acceptance Speeches

Guess what.  It’s that time of year again.  The People’s Choice Awards just took place last Wednesday night.  The Golden Globes are tonight.  Both the Oscar and Grammy nominations have already been announced.  We’ll find out who all the winners are next month.

Right here, on WordPress, bloggers continue to receive the nod from fellow bloggers, on a daily basis.

And it seems my blog is up for another award.  The Beautiful Blogger.

You’ll be very grateful to know my acceptance speech is very short and sweet.  I will not be clutching a cheat sheet full of notes and names.
