Liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar pants on fire …

It truly is gobsmacking.

I’m speaking, of course, about Robert Mueller’s most recent court filings. Robert Mueller, in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past year or so, is the Special Prosecutor who was appointed to look into the alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government and also possible obstruction of justice.

That such an investigation is necessary is alarming and sick-making enough, but what’s got me reeling is Continue reading

Promise you won’t tell … ?

Looking to numb my brain for a bit last weekend I turned to the TV and started channel surfing landing, eventually, on Big Bang Theory.  Are you whisperfamiliar with it?  It’s a terrific show, actually — a sitcom (which I usually don’t like) now in its eighth season.

There are five main characters.  Two geeky physicists, Sheldon and Leonard, who share an apartment … Penny, a waitress, who lives across the hall (who Leonard lusts after, with varying degrees of success) and their two equally geeky friends, Howard (an aerospace engineer) and Raj (an astrophysicist).

Anyway, in the episode I watched, which happened to be a re-run of an old show, Sheldon, who is my favourite character, was angsting because Penny had shared a secret with him and asked, Continue reading

Day 313. Say What????

If there is anything that makes me see RED, it’s when someone tries to insult my intelligence. I am far from being a genius, but I am NOT stupid. I am NOT gullible. I am NOT a fool. I am NOT some innocent who was just born yesterday. You CANNOT pull the wool over my eyes. I can see through bullshit a mile away.

And while you’re liarat it, do NOT lie to me, either. I have zero tolerance. Combine the two and I am going to combust. And you know what?

I’m not alone. Nobody likes it.

So yesterday I ranted about the shadier side of what’s been going on in the Canadian political arena lately. And yes, I did give you a

Day 106. Liar Liar

Well, seeing as how today’s “T”-day, this is my opportunity to rant about a subject that’s been on my mind for a long time, now.  Truth.  Or the lack of it.  Seems it’s in very short supply.  Truth be told (no pun intended) it feels like ever since Bill Clinton swore he’d “never had sex with that woman”, we’ve been going steadily down hill.

We’ve just come through a Presidential campaign that was not just ugly and filled with mud-slinging, from both sides, each of the candidates was guilty of throwing inaccurate facts around.  Of not being entirely truthful.  Shocking, really.

Will we ever know what really happened in Benghazi?  Or have we already heard so many lies, we’ll be incapable of recognizing the truth when we hear it.  If we ever do.

And Patraeus!  What are we supposed to make of that?  A distinguished former military officer, turned CIA Director cheats on his wife.  Lies to her, essentially.  And indirectly, because of who he is and what he does, he’s also guilty of lying to his colleagues, his superiors and the American people.  To the President of the United Continue reading
